Everyone dreams of having their own private haven, surrounded by trees… and you can BUT, you must put a barrier between their roots and your home, or your foundations will suffer and you will experience above normal problems with your foundations: A Root Wall and The AquaLift System.

A root barrier or root wall is a durable root barrier that effectively stops unwanted tree and plant root damage to foundations, pavement, and other infrastructure.Trees are responsible for over 50% of foundation problems. When trees are planted near a foundation, their roots will extract any available moisture from the soil. As they do, the area below the foundation contracts, causing foundation problems that can cost upwards of $30,000 to $80,000 to fix. The problem gets worse when summers are dry – such as the summer forecasted for this year.

Did you know that a fully mature, majestic oak (and many others) can suck 700 gallons of water a day through its roots? Large trees located near a foundation can cause problems by sucking water from under the foundation of your home, keep ground cover from growing thus enhancing evaporation, causing the foundation of your home to subside by several inches or more. The situation is made worse in a dry summer as they will find and suck up any available water in order to survive. The roots drain water from the soil, causing uneven subsidence under your home, causing cracks in sheet rock and its foundations.
